Your First Presence

Create your first custom Rich Presence in just a few minutes.

Prerequisites

Before creating your first presence, you need:

  • Presenza installed on your Windows PC
  • Discord running in the background
  • A Discord Application created in the Discord Developer Portal

Step 1: Create a Discord Application

If you haven't already, create a new Discord application:

  1. Go to the Discord Developer Portal
  2. Click "New Application"
  3. Give your application a name (this will show as your presence)
  4. Navigate to "Rich Presence" in the left sidebar
  5. Click "Save Changes"

Step 2: Configure Presenza

Now let's set up Presenza to use your Discord application:

Application ID

Enter your Discord Application ID (found in the General Information page of your app).

Application ID: 1234567890123456789

Activity Type

Choose what type of activity you're doing.

  • Playing — For games
  • Streaming — When live streaming
  • Listening to — For music
  • Watching — For videos
  • Competing — In competitions

Details & State

These are the main text fields that show on your profile.

  • Details — Primary text (e.g., "Playing Minecraft")
  • State — Secondary text (e.g., "Building awesome stuff")

Step 3: Test It

Click "Apply" in Presenza to update your presence. Check Discord to see your custom Rich Presence in action!

Tip: If your presence doesn't update immediately, try clicking "Reconnect" in Presenza and ensure Discord is fully loaded.
